EURUSD 15 MINUTE CHART

End-of-month/quarter erratic swings are typical nut pause below 1.0928-29 jeeps the focus on 1.08 with some support as long as it stays above it.

On the downside, the low around 1.0775 keeps 1.0760 as key support.

JP – Well they will just have to wait a little bit or I will have to teach them a lesson.  Viewing options contracts in Euro the sell side is of course still dominant but it will take some decent liquidity to push the contracts significantly lower in the short term at these levels in my view.  Euro likes to move with the Dow a lot.

Clearly very early (pre-stock market open) currencies and other markets were inconsistent, as was the case yesterday.  At the moment 10yr yield and Eur are both negative, which is not consistent.  The activity across markets this week has been as if to shake off the prior week’s intensity.  Quarter end results and other issues as well.

The trend is your friend day after earlier retracements failed to reach key levels

The closer to 8500 EurGbp gets the more the odds it reverses increase.  It will either be that or a blow out run uphill.  I am not sold on continuation at this point.

EURGBP 4 HOUR CHART – Bid but consolidating

Offset GBP selling out of this cross is one reason why GBPUSD failed to test 1.2674 (cited earlier) – contact me if you want a further explanation of how this works. It also gave a bid to EURUSD, which has so far been unable to test 1.0868 (cited earlier) despite demand from this cross.

EURUSD 1 HOUR CHART – BID IN AN OFFERED MARKET OR WHAT?

Having held a test of 1.08 EURUSD gas tested the pivotal 1.0850 level in a pre-Easter week, the bounce has tested the pivotal (more psychological than technical) level at 1.0850, also the midpoint of 1.08-1.09.

There seems little incentive to push too hard unless a solid 1.0850+ trades, which would put the key 1.0868 level in play.

Otherwise, range is to 1.0831, which was also a resistance from Friday with support seen as long as it holds..

GBPJPY 30 MINUTE CHART -Crosses driving the forex market today

USD is mixed, down vs GBP, EUR, AUD, CAD while USDJPY is about unchanged and USDCHF is up slightly.

This can be seen in this GBPJPY chart ( look at the crosses for any combination of the pairs I just cited)

With today being an inside day (unless something happens) one would think Euro futures cap in around 1.0900

May see bold buyers in Dow at 392, my preference is 390, could help hold euro up if so

May see buyers around S/P futures 5263 if seen which would support the potential for EurUsd 1.0800 holding.  Market appears to be headed for Dxy 104.05 which would support the potential for EurUsd to cap if/when it does.  Key close in points in our model.  If compromised that should lead to follow through.  Just a close in perspective.
