In our more than 25 years on the web, we. have made a concerted effort to keep politics off our Forex Forum. This has served us well considering we have registered members from over 150 different countries, many with differing political views. This has allowed us to maintain a spirit of cooperation and community among a diverse group, which in my humble opinion, should be a model for the world at large.
With that said, we do not ignore geopolitical risks but only focus on them to the extent that they might impact markets and trading. .
In this regard, the current, geopolitical risk is not on if, but how the US retaliates to Sunday’s drone attack in Jordan by Iran backed militants that killed 3 American soldiers and injured dozen others.
So, with political pressure building on President Biden to retaliate, the question from a trading perspective is whether it is focused on Iran surrogate targets or on Iran itself.
In this regard, the former would have less of a market reaction than the latter, which would heighten geopolitical risk in the Middle East.
So, just keep this in mind as markets have so far shown limited reaction to this event but as I noted the geopolitical risk should not be ignored.
Please note, we have just launched our new website, same great Global-view Forex Forum with a new look and a full slate of new trading tools. Stay tuned as we add features to the forum and fill up pages on our site.
