What’s the Story with MetaQuotes Pulling the Plug on Metatrader Access?
It has come to our attention that MetQuotes is pulling the plug on its Metatrader platforms (MT4 and MT5) to any prop trading firm offering its product to US residents. This shocked the prop trading community and saw many non-US prop firms stop accepting US clients.
I heard chatter yesterday that MetaQuotes has stopped offering its platforms to all prop firms. I have been unable to confirm but I was sent this email from a prop trading firm outside the US:
I must share some news about our initial plans regarding MetaQuotes with XXXX (name omitted). Despite our expectations and XXXX having the green light from MetaQuotes, they informed us today that MetaQuotes will not be available for any proprietary trading firms…
I spoke to someone at a prop trading firm who said there are all sorts o rumours, most not yet confirmed other than MetaQuotes no longer offering its platform to US prop trading firms.
Whatever the case, feel free to post a comment or contact me at jay@localhost with any information as this will cause a major issue for traders relying on Expert advisors, scripts and indicators on Metatrader platforms.
